Presentation people participated in a conference on Immigration Dec 5-7 at our nation's capitol. Catholic Charities USA co-hosted the Justice for Immigrants conference with about 150 participants. The conference focus was on the struggles immigrant families face with themes of: welcoming strangers as our brothers and sisters; working against human trafficking; and updating on the refugee program. The final day was spent speaking with Senators and Representatives advocating for specific budget items, renewal of the Trafficking Act resolution, and Catholic social teaching respect for the dignity of all people seeking asylum.
