An enthusiastic crowd packed into the Presentation Center for an evening with Kate Hennessy, granddaughter of Dorothy Day. She is also the author of Dorothy Day: The World Will Be Saved by Beauty.
Ms. Hennessy spoke about her grandmother’s legacy as co-founder of the Catholic Worker movement (which provides food and other services to the poor as well as being active in social justices issues).
Dorothy Day is one of the most influential American Catholics of the 20th century. She was named one of four Americans of note by Pope Francis when he addressed Congress in 2013. Her cause for canonization is in progress.
